Smackin' Acetate

When I first heard this term... I wondered what it could be.. so I asked my customers if they'd like to do a card using "smackin' acetate"... of course I got all kinds of replies..!!! Then I had to try it to see what kinds of results I would get. The result is very similar to polished stone, but much less messy and a lot easier. I chose to use the Embrace Life stamp set, since the large flower lent itself very nicely to a bold color background. The Pink and Yellow single cards are my samples.

This card is one of my customers samples. He loves purple, and it did go well with the pink background papers. Every time you do this technique , you get a different result. I'm just sorry I didn't take more pictures of the other cards. They were all so gorgeous!!

"Zindorf" Style WOW card

After getting many, many feeds from Michele Zindorf, and seeing Dawn's demo on her blog, I had to try one of these "Zindorf" technique cards. I didn't show my customers the card to start with.. just let them watch as the card emerged from all the ink and brayering. I got the reaction I expected... "WOW"... So here it is!! My "WOW" card!! Thanks Michele and Dawn!!

Wonderful You

This week at stamp club my stampers will make this lovely card using the Wonderful You stamp set and matching wheel.

This is a different variation of stamping the flowers without outlining them. Gives an entirely different look.

Each month I try to teach my friends something new. If you would like to attend any classes as a club member or guest.. please contact me!! We meet the 2nd Sunday of each month.

Preparing your stamps for stamping.

This was my finished card... with the original image. I left it that way to show my stampers what a brand new stamp can do.

Preparing your stamps: Have you ever opened up a new stamp set, inked it up, then when you stamped it, the ink puddled and just didn't stamp well? Sometimes there is a slight residue on the stamp from when it was molded in the vulcanization process. The image on the left below shows an example of what my new stamp looked like when I first stamped it. The image on the right shows what it looks like after I "sanded" it.

Here is a close up of the first "stamping"
This is the image after I fixed it. I took my SU sanding block and lightly sanded the surface of the whole stamp to remove the residue. Then I re-inked the stamp and restamped, giving the nice clean color.

Red Burst of Color

I saw a card on SCS (for those of you.. that's Splitcoaststampers.com ... a website devoted to rubber stamping) that was called "A Burst of Red".. I cased the card and changed it up a bit, putting my own touch on it. I used the spray from Stem Silhouettes (a retired SU set), with Really rust, ruby red, and saffron inks. I restamped the image and punched it out, backed it with the ruby red and mounted it on the card for a very simple, quick, bold card!! You can add any sentiment you want. As you can see, it can either be portrait or landscape! Enjoy!!
