Daisies and more Daisies with the Big Shot

After our last card class, I started punching out daisys using my new Bigshot Daisy #2 die. I had my stampers make the little round top boxes shown, but wanted to use up some papers I had already cut. So after everyone left, I cut out a bunch more daisys and started playing around with the basic card they had used with the "Good Egg" stamp set for some easter cards. When my daughter came home.. she saw my "prototype" laid out and wanted to make some thank you cards for the Nursing staff at her nursing clinical course.

These are the cards we made. Mine is the really bright pink and brown. I ended up making it a birthday card. Enjoy!!

Calendar Class

Stampin UP came out with a cute Calendar kit for 2009. Here's my rendition of my class for this neat kit. I decided to use the 9x9 clipboard since it fit so nicely on my Longaberger bookstand. Each page is stamped with images appropriate for the month. There are lots of little arrows and "doodads" included in the kit to mark special days. If you haven't signed up for a class, it's not too late!! I will be having another class in Jan. Contact me if you want to take this class!! Cost is $25 and includes all supplies (kit, clipboard, extra clip for top, designer paper, red sticky tape, and stamping sets and ink supplies)

I was asked by several where I got the little Weekly planner I had shown in an earlier post. I had bought it out of town, and went to the same kind of store here in Albuquerque, with no luck finding the larger planner. But I did find the pocket size that fits nicely in your purse (if a woman) or in a briefcase, or even the lapel of a jacket. I decorated it with our rubons, similar to the larger planner. SU has quite a few rubons to pick from, so order yours while they are still available!! You can order online on my SU website.

October Cards Galore Class

We held our first Cards Galore class the 2nd wk of October. Each person had a Keepsake box which they decorated with rubons, then stamped 5 different cards (2 of ea) to put in their box. Each month they will make 10 new cards (5 designs) to eventually add up to 100 cards. It was really fun, but long!! They all learned some new techniques with each card. Many of the designs you may recognize, since they were cased from various demos (Amy Celona, Dawn Griffifth, Susan Legits, Karen Kurz, etc). I changed each one a bit to give it it's own personality. Of course, each card made by my students turned out a bit different also. The next class will be Nov 15th, using all Christmas designs.

Easy Elegant Cards

These are some of the cards we did today at our EE Card class. The Blue rose cards (featured on a previous post) were also made. I was trying here to see what other colors would go with the new Tangerine in color. I paired it with So Saffron ink, Kiwi ink on the Old Olive card base, and Mellow moss for the leaves. Also made one of those little "popscicle" cards from some scraps.

The following I used Cameo Coral with the Tangerine, and added some cosmo glitter. I wasn't overly fond of the glitter colors, but I know someone who will love this card!! Ribbon was the Groovy Guava from the retiring In-colors. DP is River Rock.

These are the Saffron and Tangerine mixes. I think they coordinate well.

Easy Elegant Cards

I started holding some classes to get stampers more familiar with some of our Gorgeous retiring stamps... so 2 months down the road they won't say.. Gee, I wish I had ordered that!! This week I featured our "Wild Rose" stamp set. I cased a card from SCS, changing up the stamped image and adding a bit more embellishment. I also made a 6x6 scrapbook page for those who like to scrap!! Ribbon at the corner of the page allows you to attach a photo easily, or you could cut around the larger rose to stick the photo behind.

Here are the cards... one with a large rose, or you could use the rose buds. I did use the new Pacific point blue and Baja breeze inks for the roses, and our chunky glitter to add a little pizazz.

Spring Silhouettes

Spring Silhouettes Designer Paper with Soft Sky, Bayou Blue, Wasabi Green

I took the Tart and Tangy Box and patterns (demo planner designed by Andrea Walford) and created an entirely different look using the SU Spring Silhouettes DP, Baroque Motif, and Stitched Exotics stamp sets. Additional cardstock and inks included Soft sky, Bayou blue, Wasabi green, Celery 5/8 " ribbon, stitched bayou blue grosgrain , soft sky stitched grosgrain ribbons. My "Pretties" kit added just the right touch for some of the medallions with a center pearl.
Set of 5 cards and Box

Each card is a little bit different, some I reversed the DP to be on top vs the bottom.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

More Stars & Glitter!

After demo'ing the cards for my stamp club, here's what some of the members created. Cool huh!! I am always thrilled with the beautiful cards my stampers (and friends) come up with. The one on the left was by Robert, in the middle, Cindy, and the last stars and stripes created by Phil.

This one was done with the silver chunky glitter. I think all of them did a fantastic job!! This was Cindy's rendition of the chunky star card.
